You will require someone to assist you with the exercise.
Start lying on your side.
Your assistant should support your wrist and elbow.
Your elbow should be bent and your hand resting on your stomach.
Your assistant will slowly move your arm out to the side until your hand is pointing away from your body, keeping the elbow tucked in.
Join in with the movement as much as possible.
Only move within a range that is comfortable, it should not be painful.
Slowly move back to the start position.
