Axillary Nerve Tensioner

Starting position:
Lie on your back with your neck side flexed away from the shoulder to be worked on and the shoulder joint depressed downwards. The rest of the joints are fairly straight or neutral.

Assistant / therapist manually moves the limb from a shoulder adducted across the torso and internally rotated to shoulder abducted / neutral and externally rotated. Try to keep the other joints still. Alternate between these two positions.

The technique should be painless.
The movements should only be taken to the point where the patient begins to feel something.
