You will need a roll of kinesiology tape for this technique.
This technique will aim to enhance your recovery following a hamstring muscle strain.
Stand with your foot supported on a stool.
Measure and cut two 2 inch or 5cm pieces of kinesiology tape.
Cut these pieces of tape in half along their vertical length to produce four pieces of tape.
Trim off all the corners of the kinesiology tape to form curved edges.
Fold each of the four pieces of tape in half and rip the backing paper along the crease as demonstrated.
Apply the centre of the first piece of kinesiology tape under maximal tension over the area of your injury in a vertical direction.
Then apply the ends of the first piece of tape under no tension.
Apply the centre of the second piece of kinesiology tape under maximal tension over the area of your injury in a horizontal direction.
Then apply the ends of the second piece of tape under no tension.
Apply the centre of the third piece of kinesiology tape under maximal tension over the area of your injury in a diagonal direction.
Then apply the ends of the third piece of tape under no tension.
Apply the centre of the fourth piece of kinesiology tape under maximal tension over the area of your injury in a diagonal direction to complete a star shape.
Then apply the ends of the fourth piece of tape under no tension.
Rub the kinesiology tape to ensure a good adhesion is achieved.
