Hip abduction in side plank

Start by lying on your side with hips straight and your upper body supported on your forearm. Bend the knee of your lower leg and lift your hip off the floor so that your body is in a straight line.

Using your buttock muscles lift the top leg upwards. Try not to let your pelvis drop. Lower the leg back to the starting position.
