You will need a roll of kinesiology tape for this technique.
This technique will aim to provide the arch of your foot with support.
Sit upright with your affected foot crossed over your other knee and with your foot turned inwards.
Measure and cut two pieces of kinesiology tape from the centre of the sole of your foot to the outside of your lower shin bone, traveling over the top of your foot.
Trim off all the corners of the kinesiology tape to form curved edges.
Fold the first piece of kinesiology tape approximately one inch or 2.5cm from the end and rip the backing paper along the crease as demonstrated.
Apply the end of the tape under no tension to the middle of the sole of your foot before traveling over the top of your foot towards the outside of your lower shin under the desired amount of tension.
Apply the second piece of tape in the same fashion, overlapping the first by 50% towards your toes.
Measure and cut a third piece of kinesiology tape from the centre of your heel to the inside of your mid shin bone.
Trim off all the corners of the kinesiology tape to form curved edges.
Fold the piece of kinesiology tape approximately one inch or 2.5cm from the end and rip the backing paper along the crease as demonstrated.
Apply the end of the tape under no tension to the centre of your heel before traveling upwards towards your mid shin bone, under the desired amount of tension.
Smooth the tape around the contours of your ankle to ensure a good adhesion.
Stand up to test the tape before making any necessary adjustments.
