PROM thumb CMC joint extension - option 2 (Thumb radial abduction (extension) PROM, palm against chest)
Start in a seated position with your palm flat on your chest.
Use your opposite hand to support base of your thumb, gently pulling it away from your chest.
Try to keep the rest of your hand flat on your chest throughout the exercise and avoid pulling on the knuckle or end joint of your thumb.
Hold this position in a stretch before relaxing your thumb.
