Self massage and trigger pointing to posterior calf (Plantar flexors massage with trigger point release, standing foot on chair)

Stand up straight and place your affected shin on a stool.
Kneeling on this leg, take some cream and apply it to the back of your calf in broad strokes.
After a couple of minutes when the tissues are warmed, run your thumbs together up and down the back of your calf.
If you feel and tight tender spots, hold the pressure on this area.
Whilst maintaining this pressure, move your foot up and down.
