Sit up straight and place some cream on your hand.
Reach around to your lower back and gently rub the cream into the muscles to the side of your spine, just above your pelvis.
Perform big circular movements until you feel the tissues begin to warm.
Next, lean forwards and to the side, resting your other arm on your knee.
You may feel a stretch in your lower back.
Work your fingertips up and down the tissues, moving diagonally down and in towards your tail bone, then up and out.
You may find using your knuckles to be more effective.
