Sensory stimulation (vibration) ('Sensory re-education' Vibrating hand/fingers, eyes open/closed)

Sit upright on a stable chair, or wheelchair, with your back supported.
Place a pillow on your lap and rest your affected arm on it in a comfortable position with your wrist as straight as possible and your palm facing up towards the ceiling.
Use an electric toothbrush or mini-massage tool to gently apply vibration to the hand.
Apply the stimulus up and down on each fingertip, stop on the fingertip.

Whilst applying the stimulus think about the following:
-what does it feel like? Is it hard or soft
-where on the hand is it, remember to be specific, for example, is it on the fingertip?
- what is the direction of the stimulus?

Repeat the exercise without vision by closing your eyes.
