Side stepping up and downstairs (Stair training, full weightbearing, side stepping)

Going up stairs:
- Stand at the bottom of the stairs with your unaffected leg closest to the step.
- Hold onto the rail or place your hands onto the wall if there is not a rail.
- Step your unaffected leg sideways up onto the bottom step.
- Bring the affected leg up to join the other leg.
- Repeat the above steps until you reach the top.

Going downstairs:
- Stand at the top of the stairs with your affected leg closest to the top step.
- Hold onto the rail or place your hands onto the wall if there is not a rail.
- Step your affected leg sideways onto the first step.
- Bring the unaffected leg down to join the other leg.
- Repeat the above steps until you reach the bottom.
